The Grand Casino in Dunedin has stepped up to throw its weight behind a worthy cause with its upcoming event in support of Blue September, a fundraising and awareness initiative for prostate cancer by the Prostate Cancer Foundation of New Zealand (PCFNZ). Blue September intends to raise over $1 million toward offering essential wrap-around support services for men living with prostate cancer and their families.
The Grand Casino Blue September Charity Golf Tournament will be held on 23 September at the St Clair Golf Club, Dunedin and all proceeds will be donated to PCFNZ.
Golfing and Giving
To get in on the action, you can register a team of 4 for $400. If you want to add a hole sponsorship, the fee increases to $650.
Your team fee includes entry to the golf day. entry to ALL on-course activations including the $15 000 hole-in-one challenge, a barbeque lunch, on-course refreshments, and the prize-giving and auction that will follow the day’s activities.
Players will also get to witness the brilliance of guest speaker, Stephen McIvor, a top sports broadcaster who has fronted major sporting events like the Halberg Awards, Rugby and Soccer World Cups, and the Olympics. Stephen’s connection to this event is a deeply personal one, as he has a close family member who is living with prostate cancer.
For a bit of a laugh, New Zealand’s top stand-up comedian, Simon McKinney will also be on hand to bring some levity to the proceedings as the MC.
