Stakelogic goes live with a brand new studio

July 2, 2021 by Admin

Leading iGaming supplier Stakelogic has entered the live casino arena, armed with a premium selection of titles like blackjack, roulette, and a variety of game shows.

Stakelogic Live will be streamed from a newly-built ultra-modern studio in Birkirkara, Malta.

In an official statement, Stakelogic explained that the live studio has been kitted out with the latest technology including HD cameras and innovative broadcast and streaming facilities. The company stated that the resources and effort it has invested are geared at allowing it to provide a high-quality experience in a fiercely contested sector.

The company also stated that it enjoys support from its software factories in Belgrade and Kyiv, enabling it to “push the boundaries of live casino as it will come up with a range of new live dealer features and innovations.”

Stakelogic Live currently includes a selection of over seven live casino game types, including blackjack, roulette, auto roulette and some money wheel game show-style titles. The provider emphasised that its live dealer product catalogue would be receiving an influx of fresh content soon.

Opportune times

The new studio boasts 22 live tables, all of which are placed against a backdrop dripping with opulence. Pro dealers use their skills to host the games while maintaining rapport with players to make the experience all the more real

The CEO of Stakelogic, Stephan van den Oetelaar said that it makes perfect sense for the company to leap into the live casino sector.  He also stated that several of Stakelogic’s top-tier operator partners have been asking for live casino products to make their offerings more alluring and added that Stakelogic would “hit the ground running, as many of our clients have already committed to go with Stakelogic Live.”

Anthony Sammut, the Head of Live Casino at Stakelogic Live, stated that the firm has “built an incredible reputation for designing and developing some of the most popular slot games” and that now they plan to repeat that success in the live casino sector.”

He also said that that the brand’s pioneering philosophy around games development shines through in its live casino offering, providing players with experiences across all its titles that bear the same high quality.

The news of this new development comes soon after Stakelogic recently embarked on a re-branding campaign revealing its transition from a B2B slot studio to a casino content provider for operators and players too. The company also recently acquired Belgrade-based developer Smart&Applied and the relatively new Hurricane Games.

Skycity Casino investigation rolls on

June 25, 2021 by Admin

A world-famous Adelaide casino finds itself in a precarious position as it faces down an investigation into allegations of money laundering and other illicit activity. Skycity Entertainment Ltd. has been under scrutiny since September 2019 following the start of a review by the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC).

Reports of money laundering and links to the criminal underworld have marred the casino’s once-pristine reputation, however, the initiation of measures to address these issues have sparked hope among stakeholders that Skycity’s redemption is possible. AUSTRAC has also been investigating alleged irregularities around customer due diligence.

Cleaning the slate

Earlier in the year, Skycity announced that it had severed ties with junket operators. This move appeared to be prompted by the exposure of its rival Crown Resorts Ltd.’s links to organized crime operations. The relationships between casinos and junkets have historically drawn criticism because they often come dangerously close to skirting regulations. Their efforts to woo potential wealthy Chinese gambling connoisseurs pay handsomely, but may often involve shady business.

Skycity’s response to AUSTRAC’s inquiry has been appropriately unambiguous. The company has announced that it is cooperating fully with the investigation but has revealed little else in the way of fine details.

What the operator has said is that the attention of the inquest concerns the casino’s management of specific customers identified as “high risk” or “politically exposed”. The investigation is focused on the months from July 2015 to June 2016, and those between July 2018 and June 2019.

Ramping up regulation

The unprecedented growth of the international gambling industry has brought about the urgent need for intensified regulation and enforcement of said regulations, if illegal activities are to be curbed.

The damaging allegations against Skycity’s Adelaide casino have shed even more light on the fact that any industry can easily find itself adjacent to or engaged in unlawful practices. The company is undoubtedly hopeful that it can weather the process and outcome of the investigation relatively intact. Its trio of New Zealand casinos has not drawn the public attention of AUSTRAC, but there is no telling what the final findings of the probe will reveal.

The casino industry and gambling industry as a whole have suffered due to the global health crisis. Government-mandated closures of indoor entertainment venues and stay at home orders cut off the stream of customers that would regularly head out to play pokies and other games of chance.

In this volatile economic environment, casino companies that find themselves embroiled in criminal allegations may find their fortunes in even more jeopardy than the industry at large.

Mobile Casinos are the wind beneath iGaming’s wings

June 15, 2021 by Admin

The growth of the online gambling and gaming industry is unsurprising, considering rapidly increasing levels of smartphone and tablet use. Mobile casinos have become ubiquitous with any operator worth their salt making sure they have one up and running to remain competitive. Leovegas is a prominent example of an online casino that has embraced the new tech and it is now known as the “King of Mobile Casinos.”

The rise of the popularity of mobile gaming has buoyed the iGaming industry’s fortunes and technological innovations like blockchain technology are also contributing to its continued success.

Operators like All Slots casino have ensured that their mobile offerings match the variety offered by the more traditional webpage based versions, with a full range of games on offer including slots, roulette, blackjack, and poker.

The numbers tell the story of a sector in bloom with the global iGaming industry projected to reach a value of $58.34 billion by 2022, with a compound annual growth rate of 8.52%.

Global pandemic restrictions also played into the hands of the online sports industry that has seen a flood of interest. People seek out alternative forms of entertainment as sports stadiums stand empty and the industry is projected to hit a global value of $90 billion by 2025 with mobile casinos that feature sportsbooks experiencing a significant jump in activity. Spin Casino has a dedicated “Spin Sports” mobile facility that allows punters to bet on a wide selection of sports including tennis, baseball, soccer, and esports.

Online casinos in general, are expected to grow by the same factor, and this includes online Poker and Bingo.

Future perfect

With international jurisdictions getting more familiar with the digitization of the gambling industry, regulations in most territories are being adjusted to account for the rising trends. New gambling licences are being granted across the globe to place economies and the iGaming industry in mutually beneficial positions, as taxation collected from legalised gambling can be funnelled into social projects.

The challenges many local economies have faced over the past year and a half have inspired growing awareness that many industries are moving towards increasingly digital ways of doing business. Before the global health crisis, digitisation was already in rapid development in many societies with technology like smartphones, smartwatches and online profiles rendering old innovations like landlines and physical documents largely obsolete. The fact that many people conduct a large part of their lives on smart devices means that mobile casinos are ideally suited to the modern age.

Casinos like Jackpot City are poised to meet the demands of an increasingly sophisticated market, with both online and app-based mobile casino options to suit players’ needs.

The iGaming industry appears to show no signs of slowing its exponential growth. Previous obstacles to its spread have begun to fall away as perceptions shift. For example, Apple is now receptive to allowing gambling apps in its app store, meaning developers and operators have a whole new market to cater to.

The ever-changing gambling industry is always full of surprises, so it’s impossible to say what the ‘next big thing’ will be, however, the accelerated digitization of the iGaming industry will certainly be central to it and the financial rewards will be profound.

Evolution’s first quarter shows phenomenal growth

June 11, 2021 by Admin

Live casino and online gaming specialist, Evolution, recently dropped a press release, detailing financial standing after the acquisition of NetEnt.

The provider, which is also currently in the process of acquiring Big Time Gaming, reported a spectacular 105% year-on-year revenue increase for the first quarter of 2021 with its live casino offerings contributing 60% of the total growth.

The reported EBITDA was also significantly increased by an amazing 150% to €160.1 million across the first quarter of 2021, compared to the same period in 2020. This all translated to an increase in profit from 144% to €132 million.

Building capacity

Aside from Evolution’s acquisition of iGaming giant NetEnt, the company has also recently launched a live casino in Michigan and broken ground on the construction of two new live dealer studios in North America and the other in Europe.

The company’s consistent growth has made it one of the largest employers in the iGaming industry, with over 10,000 workers currently in the payroll.

Perhaps the most significant recent news for the brand is its in-progress acquisition of Big Time Gaming that is expected to be finalised near the second quarter of 2021.

Good omens

Evolution recently released its first online gaming collaboration with NetEnt in the form of the innovative Gonzo’s Treasure Hunt Live, a title that is generating serious industry buzz thanks to its advanced features and unique gameplay.

The company’s regional growth has also been overwhelmingly positive, with North America showing the most significant upswing with revenues that have more than doubled over the last quarter. Europe, Asia, and the United Kingdom have also displayed encouraging growth.

Evolution’s buoyant fortunes are expected to persist for the foreseeable future, particularly with the Big Time Gaming acquisition nearing completion. Since it managed to acquire NetEnt, Evolution’s has experienced remarkable revenue growth with an increase of 22.1.

Aristocrat’s online casino earnings way better than expected

June 1, 2021 by Admin

Australian gambling machine manufacturer, Aristocrat Leisure recently announced that it would be increasing its earnings forecast for the first half of the financial year. This follows a period of unexpectedly buoyant growth in its digital and gaming businesses. In the six months preceding 31 March, Aristocrat stated that its net profit after tax was projected at AUD 346 million.

The company’s NPATA (Normalised Net Profit After Tax and Before Amortisation of Acquired Intangibles), is expected to reach $412 million. This represents an increase of 12% when compared to the same period in 2020. This amount does not include the effects of a $19 million retention expense that emerged as an associated cost in the acquisition of Plarium.

Growth spurt

The past year has been full of plenty of unexpected developments and despite this Aristocrat reported that it produced above-average growth within the industry. This upswing in profits is due to bookings which created revenue and profit growth year-on-year. The company stated that this was made possible by a large investment in live operations, features, new online casino content and user acquisition.

Trevor Croker, Aristocrat’s CEO and MD explained that the results demonstrate the company’s ability to adopt winning strategies. He further stated that the company’s choices enabled it to maintain its investments in its products, people, customers, and culture amid a global health crisis.

Croker went on to say that the company expects that the year will see the economic conditions across key land-based and online casino remain on shaky ground. With this in mind, the firm will keep attending to key crucial factors like visitation at gaming venues, currency headwinds and consumer needs.

Fair weather ahead

The company elaborated that its EBITDA, or (Normalised Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortisation) is expected to hit $750 million, a growth of 6% compared to the first half of 2020.

Aristocrat revealed that it recorded phenomenal growth in its online casino segment thanks to ideal conditions in the US, New Zealand and Australia markets as well as increased customer engagement and product performance.

Mr Croker wrapped up, saying that the firm intends to aggressively pursue the remainder of its strategy in the second half of the fiscal year. Increased investment will bolster the releases of new games and strategic competencies which are geared towards cultivating Aristocrat’s projected long-term growth.

“It’s an absolute pleasure to be working closer with industry peers, sharing the same enthusiasm as we do to promote fun and engaging games. The xNudge mechanic stands out for its bold potential and simple, yet embraceful entertainment. Booming Games seem to share the same vision as we do.”

SkyCity kicks its junket habit forever

April 16, 2021 by Admin

Casino operator SkyCity Entertainment Group Limited reportedly made the recent announcement that it will permanently halt its practice of using junket firms to draw in high-rolling foreign gamblers to its four properties.

In a report by Inside Asian Gaming, the firm which is listed in Wellington and Sydney and operates the New Zealand’s SkyCity Auckland, SkyCity Hamilton and SkyCity Queenstown properties, recently splashed out around $243 million for the renovation of its SkyCity Adelaide venue in Australia. The report detailed the upheaval in the operators interior processes, that came after an eight-week strategic review into its international business that identified possible ‘due diligence’ and ‘know your customer’ gaps associated with the use of junket firms.

Cautionary tale

This latest development at SkyCity was largely attributed to a ruling in early February by regulators in New South Wales against fellow operator Crown Resorts Limited that found it was unsuitable to hold a casino license for its new Crown Sydney property. This judgement by the New South Wales Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority came about as a result of allegations that the operator may have enabled a rash of money laundering offences directly related to its dependence on foreign junket enterprises.

Switching course

In a recent official filing, SkyCity Entertainment Group Limited stated it intends to adopt an adapted model for its international business that will prioritise direct interaction with foreign players after its completion of ‘appropriate know your customer and customer due diligence’ checks. The operator reportedly relayed that it would also ‘consult with its gaming regulators in New Zealand and South Australia’ regarding the finer details of ‘its revised operating model’ going forward.

A new start

In a related story, also from Inside Asian Gaming, the former Deputy Chairman for SkyCity Entertainment Limited, Bruce Carter, accepted the new role of a non-executive director at Crown Resorts Limited. Carter vacated his previous post after managing the expansion of the SkyCity Adelaide venue and will now dedicate his energy and skills in assisting his new employer to obtain a casino license for its $1.5 billion Crown Sydney development.

Carter’s move echoes that of Nigel Morrison, the previous Chief Executive Officer for SkyCity Entertainment Group Limited. The new hires come as Crown scrambles to cleanse itself of all allegations of impropriety in the hope that it can revive its dreams of bringing casino gambling to its Crown Sydney development.

A Crown Resorts Limited representative commented in an official statement, saying,

“Attracting someone of Bruce’s calibre to the board is an endorsement of our strategy, ambition and commitment to reform. Bruce’s appointment will enhance our governance as we continue to implement our ambitious reform program.”

Evolution extends its grasp with new deal

April 13, 2021 by Admin

Evolution has built a sterling reputation as a leading provider in the iGaming industry since its founding in 2006 and its Live Gaming offerings are highly popular. The brand is constantly focused on growth by reaching as many customers as possible, and to this end, Evolution recently signed a new deal with Cordish Gaming Group, a division of the Cordish Companies.

Perfect pair

Evolution’s Commercial Director, North America Jeff Millar stated in an official press release that the company is excited to work with Cordish Gaming and Play Live. He also said that Evolution‘s online casino and entertainment portfolio are a great fit for enhancing Cordish’s Live! Experience online.

“Our Live! Casinos and Hotels set a new standard in best-in-class customer experiences with highly acclaimed gaming, hotel, dining, and entertainment destinations throughout the Mid-Atlantic region,” he said.

Billhimer added that one of the main reasons for creating the PlayLive! online casino was delivering a matching online offering to draw in and entertain players. Evolution is having a busy 2020 so far and in the second quarter of the year, it is due to deliver its catalogue of online casino games and First Person RNG-based games from its studios in Philadelphia to PlayLive! players in Pennsylvania.

The recent deal with Cordish Gaming Group marks a further push by Evolution to gain ground in the US market. The provider has gained popularity with Americans since its first incursion.

Following the announcement on 29th March, punters from Philadelphia are waiting with bated breath for the launch of PlayLive! Once the service is active, they will be able to access some of Live Casino’s most popular titles including Crazy Time, the epic Dream Catcher, Lightning Roulette, and Live Football Studio to name a few.

PlayLive! was launched in Pennsylvania by the Cordish Gaming Group in August 2020 via a GAN Restricted partnership. This gaming expertise agency conducts most of its business in Europe.

Thanks to the new deal, the gaming website now has an expanded range of live offerings, game-show content, and First individual options. For the moment, live games will be streamed from the corporate studio based in Philadelphia pending the opening of the new studio in the second quarter of 2021.

Swintt breaks new ground with LeoVegas content deal

March 26, 2021 by Admin

There are surely celebrations going on at Swintt’s Malta headquarters. The iGaming developer’s likely jovial mood would be due to it recently cementing a deal with the LeoVegas Group of online casinos for the delivery of its signature brand of online casino games.

In Swintt’s brief history, since its founding in 2019, the developer has delivered game content to a series of tier-one operators and iGaming platform providers. Swintt’s games will now feature at LeoVegas Casino, LeoVegas Group’s flagship brand which was founded in 2012.

LeoVegas Group-associated brands will now be able to offer players a thrilling selection of blockbuster slots such as Master of Books, Lucky Fruit Wheel, Extra Win, and Tokyo Dragon.

The developer plans to steadily add its titles to the platform weekly until it has its complete 40+ casino games catalogue available for players. Swintt’s popular content that emulates land-based experiences has gained a significant fanbase across the German market and other European countries.

Swintt is preceded by its reputation for creating growth market-focused localised casino content that can be customised for local requirements. The developer’s slots boast intricate math models and compelling design that translate into memorable and rewarding player experiences.

David Mann, Swintt’s Chief Commercial Officer, said, “This is a great deal for us and proves that the quality and calibre of our games is up there with the very best developers in the market. Our portfolio is extensive and localised, allowing operators to ensure the games they offer meet player needs in each market they enter.”

“This allows them to stand out from their rivals through quality content that delivers the experience players are seeking. We are thrilled to be supplying our content to the LeoVegas Group and look forward to seeing our titles land in the lobbies of its casino brands over the coming weeks.”

James Ford, the Group Casino Director at LeoVegas also commented, stating, “Content is a powerful differentiator and this deal with Swintt allows LeoVegas Mobile Gaming Group to add a suite of highly entertaining casino games to our portfolio. That games are localised is a major upside and means we can deliver content that we know meets player preferences in specific markets.”

“We have seen players enjoy their first spins on the Swintt games launched already, including Master of Books, Lucky Fruit Wheel, Extra Win, and Tokyo Dragon, and look forward to adding additional Swintt titles over the coming weeks and months.”

The top 5 highest RTP slots at Leo Vegas

February 26, 2021 by Admin

Regardless of all their bells and whistles, slot titles are purely games of chance, and determining exactly which slots are guaranteed to land you big or regular wins is a near impossible task.

That being said, some determiners can indicate an increased likelihood of winning, and Return to Player (RTP) is one of the more important ones. Games with a higher RTP statistically offer more frequent winning chances and an overall more enjoyable gaming experience.

Bearing all this in mind, here are the slots with the top 5 highest RTP at Leo Vegas.

Blood Suckers by NetEnt (98% RTP)

The age of this title aside, its high RTP has kept this slot on the popularity charts for close to a decade. It features a universally compelling vampire theme and has two features that are regularly triggered. While your wins may come often, there isn’t much chance for a massive payout so the game tends to attract players who enjoy extended stints of spinning without it posing too large a threat to their bankrolls.

Jokerizer by Yggdrasil (98% RTP)

Yggdrasil was in full-on retro mode when they developed Jokerizer. The fruit machine-themed slot features instantly recognisable symbols like lucky 7s, bells, and all the iconic fruit. While it emulates the feeling of playing your favourite slot in a pub, the slot integrates modern design methods to produce sharp, immersive visuals and sound. While this game may be aimed directly at a niche market, its RTP of 98% makes it an attractive prospect for gamers of all types.

White Rabbit by Big Time Gaming (97.7%)

The classic, sometimes psychedelic tale of Alice in Wonderland is brought to vibrant life in this title. The game adopts a mildly unsettling vibe that captures the spirit of the story perfectly and the main feature sees you expanding the reels to boost your winning chances.

The slot’s high RTP of 97.7%, doesn’t guarantee that your bankroll is shielded from large losses as the game is also highly volatile with big bonus payouts appearing less often than you might like.

Money Train by Relax Gaming (up to 98%)

This Wild West-themed title starts you off with an industry-average RTP of 96.2% in the base game, but lets you take things to the next level with a handy buy feature where you trade an amount of 80x your stake for instant access to the bonus feature and a boosted RTP of 98%.

The trade-off may well be worth it as the game promises a compelling maximum reward of 20 00x your stake.

Joker Strike by Quickspin (up to 98.11%)

Quickspin’s Joker Strike takes an unconventional approach to slot gameplay by doing away with the expected bonus features in favour of a game mechanic that gives you the chance to boost the amount you claim after a winning spin. While the base game, RTP starts at 96%, you can employ the High Roller feature that can take your RTP up to 98.11%. The feature gives you winning chance-boosting features in exchange for your wager being increased for a certain number of spins.

50 Free Spins at LeoVegas

Now that you have an idea of which games you might like to try your hand at, LeoVegas has a brilliant introductory offer for new customers. You get 50 Signup Free Spins on Starburst (a slot that allows operators to add their own RTP boost) at LeoVegas Casino. You will receive your bonus free spins immediately after signing up with no deposit requirement.

If you do choose to make a deposit you are eligible for a 100% up to NZD$1000 casino bonus with 150 Cash Spins.
